Laguna Beach, CA - August 29th, 2016
Our USA Friend Austin Keen battled his way through a competitive bracket of the worlds best athletes and was victorious at the 40th Annual “The Vic” World Championship of Skimboarding.
Austin’s win made him the first competitor from the East Coast to win the sport’s most prestigious 40-year running event. “To win The Vic is something that I’ve dreamed about since I was 15-years-old”, said Keen. “It’s right up there with winning the world Title in 2013, and was a personal goal of mine. I’ve been close before and made to the finals in 2014 and 2015, but came up short which makes it that much more special to win this year on the 40th anniversary of the event”. Austin’s name will be memorialized on The Vic's perpetual trophy along with the sports greats.
